An Australian reviewer seems to have gotten the gist of 'renegade' and Sharon in general ...." it's hard for me to believe that it's a studio recording, their enjoyment of the shared experience of playing together is almost palpable. It feels and sounds like an almighty session .." full review here.

Excerpts from the review of RENEGADE in the Telegraph.
From her stints with the Waterboys and Arcady, Sharon Shannon has been a creative giant of Irish music... Her collaborations reveal a bold spirit of adventure, reaching out to strangers with an eloquence that belies her conversational reserve... For Renegade, she adds the excellent Dezi Donnelly (fiddle), Michael McGoldrick (flute) and Jim Murray (guitar)...this is Irish music of the highest order and Shannon should not let Renegade come and go as quickly as her other escapades. Colin Randal

Completing the quartet is Sharon's longtime guitarist Jim Murray. This quartet toured Australia last year and played at Womadadelaide.
