Eleanor Shanley is one of Ireland's most talented female folk singers who has performed with the likes of De Dannan, Christy Moore and Ronnie Drew to name but a few.
Eleanor Shanley and Ivan Le Parr met over twelve years ago while they were both working with De Dannan, one of Ireland's foremost traditional groups. They had a hit with the trad/gospel fusion of Stephen Foster's song, Hardtimes. This meeting sowed the seeds of the concept of this album, which was also influenced by a sense of spirituality experienced by Eleanor, Summer 2004, on a trip to Uganda with the Irish Charity organisation Self Help. Ivan now calls New York City home, but comes from a family immersed in the gospel music of the Southern States. It's a big departure for a Leitrim girl to share an entire album with a singer from the gospel tradition.
